Got something done, that's better than nothing

Loaded up my wagon to move things from the patio to the garden beds. These little guys all made the trip to the garden to get placed in the ground. I ran out of daylight and dirt on the last two pots- so those will have to be tomorrow's project.

It's hard to see, but this is 8 roses, a delphinium, 2 columbine, a 'yellow black-eyed susan type thing I forgot to write down name of', a hardy hibiscus, 2 hardy chrysanthemums and a huechera. Not bad for only an hour left of daylight- got stuck at work late. If I just keep planting a full wagon each evening after work, I'll be done in no time. They won't all go this easy though, these were going into the bed I solarized last year. It's easy when there are hardly any weeds left.

In exciting news, I found a new dirt guy and he might be able to fit in dropping off 6 yards tomorrow. Fingers crossed it's good dirt. I always get a bit nervous that it will have herbicide residuals or garbage and rocks. Never know! I've gotten some interesting garden dirt here so far. It's run the gambit from sandy trash soil to a load that smelled fresh out of a horse stall but included a lot of garbage. A lot of it has come in hot where I've had to pile it and wait to use it. This time I requested screened topsoil- so hopefully this will just be basic dirt- not hot, not full of rocks and coke cans. I'd rather have to add some dairy do then try to deal with hot- especially since I need to use it now. Hopefully I can use this stuff immediately.
