Plant Hauls - NewGardenPlants.com - Hellebores

This was a new vendor for me, but they had a good price on hellebores I was looking for so decided to take a gamble with a 'new to me' vendor.

Overall impression- first of all, I'm always happy when I get what I ordered without substitutions. It looks like I got my entire order and there aren't substitutions, so I'm happy with that aspect. The plants came in mostly in good condition, one was a bit more waterlogged than the others and there's a bit of yellowing- but, nothing that time won't fix. As to size, 4 plants were larger and very similar in size. They are similar to what the nursery up the road carries in quart size- but the other 2 are noticeably smaller plants. Price point was between $16-$18 each which is what I would pay at the local nursery. Many other online retailers have as much as a $39 price point for hellebores in the same pot.

Packaging was reasonable, some supports to keep the plants from moving and then individually wrapped in paper. There was some soil shift in transit, but nothing that was a large issue.

Overall, plants look good, price and shipping were reasonable. Packaging was functional without being overly wasteful. Would order again if they had a plant I had to have and the local nursery didn't have that variety.
