Overall Impression:
Always an absolute joy to buy from Northland. Do keep in mind that these are living things. I found a couple aphids on one, a smidge of spider mites on another. They varied a bit in size, some starting to branch and some basically a stick with a couple tiny branches. BUT- they all came in healthy and ready to grow. I have yet to lose a rose from Northland and I've bought quite a few. The packaging strikes a decent balance between preserving the plant and not being an absolute beast to open. A couple roses had partially slid out of pots, but, easy to slide right back in. It takes me minutes to unload the box, there isn't a pile of staples and so on. I received my whole order with no mystery substitutions- something other companies could learn from. Most did not come with blooms, but Fiemmetta and Bulls Eye both did. Bull's Eye is really fragrant- I was surprised as that wasn't why I ordered it but should be something absolutely mentioned. Fiemmetta has no photos whatsoever on the internet, an absolute crime as she is darling. I bought with no idea what she looked like and am just so thrilled I did. Both bloom photos below are Fiametta, an older Geschwind rose.
Photos:
Give me a bit of grace here, it was cold and rainy and so I unboxed these in my very dimly lit livingroom with my phone camera.I will add a nicer photo of the plants later- we should get some sun tomorrow- but I couldn't wait to unbox as small roses can't just hang out in a box waiting for a nice photo day.
